Take a ferry ride out to Monhegan Island for the day. Hike around the island and visit the galleries and brewery.
A great steep but short hike with views of Camden harbor and a stone tower at the top. You can also drive to the top of Mount Battie via Camden Hills State Park for a small fee.
Another great short hike in Camden, leads you to views of Lake Megunticook and the Camden Snowbowl.
Slightly longer hike just past the Camden Snowbowl. One of Hillary’s favorites!
Head 20 minutes south of Camden to Rockland for great museums (CMCA and the Farnsworth), galleries, shops (Curator and Daughters are two of Hillary's favorites), and plenty of other things to explore (walk the Rockland breakwater).
Long grain (amazing Thai food), zoot (coffee), bagel cafe (TOASTED bagels), mariners (classic breakfast), lucky Betty’s (cocktail bar with a great vibe), oyster river winegrowers (local natural winery with tasting room in Camden), the waterfront (Hillary worked here high school through college, on the water, good place for steamers, mussels and a crab melt), seafolk (in rockport, breakfast and coffee)
If you're planning to make an extended trip to Maine, spending a night in Portland to eat some amazing food is never a bad idea!
