Hillary & Aiden

Aiden and Hillary met online in March 2021 and hit it off immediately. Shortly after connecting, they met at a brewery. What should have been an hour-long first date turned into an entire afternoon. They scheduled their second date while still on their first, for only two days later. At the end of the date, they both wanted to keep it going but were too nervous to suggest continuing to dinner. They shared their first kiss, and it was unlike anything either of them had felt before. They both love playing games, so a few weeks later, Aiden created a card game to ask Hillary to be his girlfriend. He had two dogs, and she had two cats, so both were able to check the animal lover box. She was starting to get into camping, and he was an avid camper. Their first weekend getaway was to Glenwood Springs, CO, about two months after they started dating. This weekend trip is high on both of their lists of favorite trips because it was when they fell in love—though they did not say it yet. They held on to it for a couple of weeks until, during a game of Gin, Hillary was getting ready to say it when Aiden said, "I think I love you." She smiled because she was just about to say the same and loved that they had the same thought. Then she teased Aiden for saying, "I think." The Proposal March 3, 2023: Aiden had a childhood friend, Cody, in town for the weekend. Hillary was asking Cody about his plans while in Denver, and his agenda did not align with what Aiden had told her before he arrived. Aiden had purchased tickets to tour Coors in Golden the following morning with him, but Cody couldn’t go. Even though Hillary had plans the following day with friends, they were not until later, so she could make it work to go to the brewery to ensure the tickets didn’t go to waste. That evening, Aiden asked Hillary if Cody could borrow her car. She was initially reluctant and said no. At this moment, Aiden began to panic inside, but she had no idea why. To make his plan work, he suggested they take his car because it gets better gas mileage. Hillary was skeptical because A) they were only going to Golden, and B) their cars have similar gas mileage. He dropped the subject and made it work. March 4, 2023: They had so much fun on the Coors tour, as they had been wanting to do it since they began dating. After the tour, Hillary received a text from her friend Rachel saying she got food poisoning and could not hang out that afternoon. Hillary was bummed but made the best of it. Golden is their favorite town, so they decided to spend the day there. Aiden had one place he really wanted to go, which confused Hillary when she looked it up because the day was originally planned for Aiden and Cody, and the place Aiden wanted to visit was a hotel with a cute taproom. Hillary and Aiden eventually made their way to this place, The Eddy Taproom & Hotel. They grabbed a table, and Aiden pulled out a deck of cards Hillary had never seen, so she asked him where it came from. He ignored the question and shuffled. Hillary noticed a single card still in the box, so she pulled it out. She saw Aiden had written on it and asked if it was important. He quietly took it. He dealt the cards, and in Hillary's hand were notes written by Aiden. After she read each one, he flipped the top card - "Hillary King," followed by the next card, "Will you marry me?" He slid onto one knee and opened the box to the ring of Hillary's dreams. Aiden will not let Hillary forget that as he pulled out the ring box, she said, "That is a small box," but trust that the ring was not small. She did not see it coming because, from her perspective, these were spontaneous plans, and it was just a couple of weeks before they were dating for two years, so she suspected nothing.
