As of July 6th, the number of COVID cases in East TN and specifically in Sevier County have surpassed a level that we are comfortable with. For this reason, we have chosen to move forward with a private ceremony and will celebrate safely with friends and family at a later date. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience, understanding and love. If you have booked with The Parkside Resorts, please call and ask to speak with Blake regarding your cancellation. You can then ask to apply your down payment to Hillary Coombs booking of Mountain View Lodge 8/22-8/24. Hillary will then personally reimburse you. Alternatively, please contact Hillary to assist with this process. We will be e-mailing a link to access our ceremony virtually one week prior to the wedding. If you have any questions regarding this let us know. For any other questions regarding your plans, please reach out to Hillary directly. Thank you again for your patience and understanding.
One month after meeting in 2013 we were diving head first into a love story we never would have expected. After a deployment, being long distance for two years, and spending A LOT of money on flights... Aaron joined me in Dallas, TX where we first started our adventure together. In January of 2016, I was relocated to Melbourne Australia where Aaron followed. We spent one year here followed by a year in Sydney Australia. During this time we traveled through much of Australia, New Zealand and even spent 4 weeks in Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia). After two and half years of moving around, we decided we wanted to start settling in for our long term future. Since determining this would be in Connecticut, we have taken some big steps towards settling down. We got our first baby (Darby, our chocolate lab) and purchased a home in CT. Now the time has come for us to make this thing official! We can't wait to see you in the mountains to help us start our next adventure.
For any of you that have not heard the story yet, the proposal happened like this. After having dinner with friends in Mystic (where Aaron had debated proposing but it was too cold outside) we returned home. I headed towards bed when Aaron asked me to stay in the living room and hang out for a little while. About 10 minutes later Darby (our chocolate lab) starts running around the house with a white card in his mouth. Since he normally does this with mail and cards I didn't think anything of it. Aaron asks "Hillary, can you help me get the card from Darby?" I reply "Babe, you're right there, just get it!" Aaron: "HILLARY - HELP ME!!!" I reluctantly get off the couch and go to grab the paper from Darby's mouth. When I do he drops it and I see it says "SAY YES!" and when I turn around Aaron was on one knee in front of our Christmas Tree. We never imagined Aaron would actually be able to surprise me but he did and it was a perfect night.
