A valid passport (with at least 6 months until expiration) The guidance on travel to Ireland changes frequently, check with your airline and the Irish Gov't website (copy and paste the URL below into your browser) for the latest information. As of Sunday 6 March 2022, travelers to Ireland are no longer asked to complete a COVID-19 Passenger Locator Form. There are also no post-arrival testing or quarantine requirements for travelers to Ireland. We do ask that everyone is up-to-date with Covid-19 vaccinations. If you are traveling through another country either before or after Ireland, including the UK, please check that country's requirements even if just connecting. Currently the United States still requires a test within one day of re-entry. There has been no timeline set for when this will expire. https://www.gov.ie/en/publication/77952-government-advice-on-international-travel/#travelling-to-ireland
Shannon Airport: About an hour from Doolin Dublin Airport: About 3 hours from Doolin If you decide you'd rather fly into Dublin and are looking to make a trip of it, we’d recommend spending a couple nights in Dublin before making your way to Doolin on Monday. You could also spend time exploring a bit more of Ireland on your way back to Dublin. If you plan to head to Europe after the wedding, both airports offer a range of flights, but Dublin will have more options. Either way, we highly suggest you rent a car so you can explore Ireland to the fullest. There are no Ubers/Lyfts in Doolin and very few local taxis.
Hotel Doolin is the site for both the ceremony and the reception. Ideally you would stay in the village center within walking distance to the hotel. There are very few sidewalks, no streetlights, and narrow roads. A mile walk may not be too bad in the city, but I wouldn't chance it on the Wild Atlantic Way. Ask us if you are unsure of location. Many online rentals will say Doolin, but could be miles away from the village center. Currently the Hotel Block is full. (There are only 17 rooms in the hotel) however Hotel Doolin has additional accommodations adjacent to the main hotel rooms. Check out Cullinan's Guest House or The Pipers Chair on the travel page for more info on those. We have also listed other recommendations for lodging on the travel page. From a glampground to a hostel, luxury B&Bs to rustic self service houses, Doolin has something for everyone. But please reach out if you have any questions, we'd be happy to help
Cocktail Attire for the wedding on Tuesday and Casual for the Welcome Drinks on Monday.
As for clothing, the key to packing for a trip to Ireland is adaptability! The average daytime temperature in Doolin in the middle of July is is 68°F and 54°F at night. We've also experienced temperatures closer to 80°F this time of year. Go for layers that you can put on or take off as the temperature changes. Be sure to bring a sweater and/or a light coat for chillier evenings, comfortable walking shoes, and a waterproof jacket with a hood and/or an umbrella because it will rain! Thankfully though, heavy bouts of rain don't occur too often. American plugs don’t fit Irish sockets so be sure to bring an adapter, and possibly a converter as well. Most devices will have a sticker or tag with voltage information, but when in doubt use a converter as you run the risk of frying your electronics otherwise!
- Make sure your passport is up-to-date and there's at least 6 months remaining on your expiration date - Always put your passport back in the same place. You won't ever have to dig for it and you'll always know you have it - Pack any essentials (medicine, change of clothes, chargers/adapters) in your carry-on - Pack portable chargers for day trips so you never run out of power - Be sure to bring EU adapters so you can charge your phone etc. - Make sure your credit card doesn't have foreign transaction fees - Contact your credit card company (can be done online) to alert them of your travel dates, so they don't think your charges from outside of the country are suspicious - Keep your phone on airplane mode and use wifi at hotels and restaurants. Also, check with your carrier as many have $10 a day international plan options. DO NOT use your phone if you don't do either of these things as you'll be stuck with crazy roaming fees. Most of our phones use data in the background so even turning it could trigger a charge if you don’t have data off or on airplane mode. Feel free to reach out to us with any other questions! We love to talk travel :)

Short Answer: NO We have some amazing news! If you haven't already seen, according to multiple media outlets, the CDC and President Biden are set to suspend the US entry testing requirement for international travel. This means that you can ignore the email and instructions we sent on Saturday June 4th. According to the CDC press release, As of 12:01AM on Sunday June 12th, air passengers will not need to get tested and show the COVID-19 test result or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 prior to boarding a flight to the U.S. So you do not need to take tests with you or schedule a test at the airport prior to returning to the US nor do you need to get records from your provider if you were previously positive. We are excited as we hope this alleviates stress around testing and gives everyone more time to enjoy their trip! For those who are visiting countries other than Ireland prior to or after our wedding we strongly encourage you to check the testing requirements for entering those countries as entry requirement may differ.
