We met in Atlanta at a prayer conference while serving as ushers. I was part of her friend’s ushering team. After picking up our ushering shirts and touring the venue where we would be serving, our group joined her as she sat and ate. I introduced myself and mentioned I was from Ghana. Out of nowhere, she excitedly exclaimed that her grandfather was Ghanaian too. In that moment, everything felt instantly familiar. Realizing we shared a love for Ghanaian food, we left together for a meal. We talked, laughed, and enjoyed each other’s company. I dropped her off at her hotel and left without asking for her number, thinking that was the end of it. The next day, as I walked toward the venue, I heard familiar voices call me from behind. I turned around, joined her and her friend, and from that moment on, we’ve been inseparable. Looking back now, it’s clear God was gently weaving our paths together, long before we ever noticed.
