Believe it or not, a love story for the ages started on a dating app! They didn't know much about each other other than they had their faith and height in common, but after sharing fried pickles at Angry Goldfish and didn't stop talking for the next 8 hours, they knew their lives had changed forever! They quickly realized that the other person was who they had waited for their entire lives. As Katie wrote in her journal a week after they started dating, "...and I realized I would go anywhere with him." After June 16th, 2021, they were inseparable, and life became a happy blur of spending time with family and friends, learning about each other and strengthening their relationship, having lovely dinners downtown and fun adventures in the green Jeep, snuggling their tiger kitty Izzy, tagging each other in corgi pictures, playing in a worship band together and bingeing The Office! They had (and still have) a wholehearted, all-in, whirlwind romance... AJ asked Katie to be his girlfriend on 7/7/20, and proposed to her on 10/30/20. She was suspicious and had already been lining up an engagement photographer! Strangers only 7 months ago, they now can't imagine life without each other and are extremely excited to continue their lives as husband and wife. God has blessed them with an extraordinary love that is already so strong, so sacrificial, so kind, and so passionate! Katie's health has already brought difficult moments for them, but AJ takes incredible care of Katie and often tells her, "Your health is mine, and my health is yours. What's good for you is good for me." Katie feels beyond lucky to find a husband that is so understanding and loving, who makes her feel valuable when she's struggling and think she's beautiful when she's sick. Katie will have 3 surgeries in their first year of marriage, but they will continue to love each and find their strength from God through all the ups and downs to come!
