Once upon a time an old man made a website. He called it...eHarmony. As Jessica was beginning her new teaching adventure in Paramount, Jonathan was getting ready to vacation in a far off magical land called Colorado. He called her, she called him and before you knew it, they were setting up their first date. Jessica was intrigued or maybe it was terrified, she really didn't know. But Jonathan knew the way to her heart. In a moment of brilliance, Jonathan suggested an Angels game followed by fireworks. How could Jessica resist? I mean, fireworks!! (#duh). And so began three more dates over the next seven days...and the beginning of their story.
A year into our tale (because you can't get engaged before you've been going out for 1 year #patience), Jonathan was granted a great boon...VACATION DAYS. After many failed attempts to set up an engagement scenario in Orange County, Jonathan asked his great friends, Kendra and Kris, to join...the fellowship of the ring. The three of them concocted an ingenious plan to ask for Jessica's hand on the Forrest Moon of Endor. There was just one tiny thing Jonathan had to do before they could begin their quest. He had to consult with the wisest of sages...her parents. Once their blessing had been obtained, Jessica and Jonathan set off together on their longest road trip yet, a journey to the far off land of San Francisco, California. Kendra, Kris and Jonathan suggested a hike through Muir Woods National Park to the fair Jessica. How could she resist a walk through trees that had been in a Star Wars movie? (#WhatsStarWars) Once they got there, however, Jonathan's plans were thwarted at every turn by hordes of tourists and crying children. Leaving the woods, ring still in the backpack he brought, another plan was suggested...Muir Beach. After navigating to just the right spot, Jonathan asked for Jessica's thoughts on the sunset before them. She became annoyed. I mean they were just standing there, in the middle of the beach. As her nose became frigid from the cold sea air, Jonathan asked for her full attention. He got down on one knee and Jessica did what Jessica does. She laughed. And laughed. And laughed. After a bit of prompting, and getting over the shock that he talked to her parents without her knowing, she finally said yes. The ring was received. The fellowship was a success.
