They say that love finds you when you least expect it. For Matt and Steff, it started with their dogs. In the spring of 2018, after what Steff vowed as her final winter in New Jersey, she wanted to improve her puppy’s swimming skills, and Matt, a new homeowner on Cedar Run Dock Road, invited her and her dogs, Lemon and Pepper, over to swim in the creek with his dog Zoey. The day took a turn when Matt’s boat broke down, but instead of being deterred, Steff found herself intrigued by Matt’s easygoing charm. Their connection grew as they bonded over a shared love of dogs, surfing, and adventure. Matt told stories of winters spent surfing in Costa Rica, and Steff shared her travels through Central and South America. Soon, their adventures became intertwined. From trips to Costa Rica to building a container house together in the coastal town of Playa Hermosa, they built a life full of laughter, love, and big dreams...all alongside their dogs. After several years of adventures, Matt and Steff are ready for their next chapter-together.
