We Are Getting Married!

Chad and I met in 2011 at Lewis University during our sophomore year. We were both Biology majors and had almost every class together. We had the same group of friends and remained close friends until the end of college when we decided it was a good time to make things official. As God would have it however, we were not meant to be in the same city. Chad headed off to Kansas City to attend medical school and I lived in Destin with Mema and Papa while I applied to PA school. On October 26, 2014 God revealed why I was meant to be close to home. That was the day my dad was in a terrible car accident. From that day until I started PA school in May of 2015, I was there for him at the hospital, rehabilitation center or at home as he recovered from a spinal cord injury. Chad endured long hours of studying throughout that time, but always made time to lighten my spirits when I needed him the most. It was one of the most trying times in both of our lives, but I can't imagine going through it with anyone else. I graduated from PA school in December of 2017, only a couple months before Chad matched for his residency, and I was blessed with a wonderful job in cardiac surgery in Jackson, MS. Early in 2018 we found out that once again we would continue our long-distance relationship as Chad was placed in Orlando for his residency in Family Medicine. After another year apart I found an amazing job and a nice apartment near Disney and work so I moved to Orlando and for the first time in six years we were together in the same city. We were really starting to enjoy all that Orlando had to offer before COVID started. We have loved our time here with new friends, a wonderful church, warm weather, and most importantly great craft beer, but we could not be more excited to move into this new and exciting stage of our lives. We can’t wait to share our special day with you.

The day after Thanksgiving Chad surprised me with his proposal on the beach in Destin. The setting for the engagement ring came from a ring of my great grandmother Kathleen's, which is also my middle name. All my family was there to celebrate with us. We had a bon fire on the beach that night and a weekend full of beautiful weather.
