After meeting online, the most millennial way, Michael asked Mallory to meet up for drinks (#SwipeRightForHickson). Michael randomly picked a place from reviews online. Thankfully, Mallory had another suggestion since her sorority was holding a function at the bar Michael picked. They landed at Swamp Head Brewery in Gainesville, FL. Michael drove from Fleming Island for the chance to meet his future bride. After easy conversation throughout the night, Mallory and Michael both knew there was something different about this first date. They bonded over their love for sports and good beer. From there on Michael drove back and forth to Gainesville to spend time with Mallory. After about 6 months, Mallory made the very bold decision to move in with Michael in Fleming Island. And, like they say, the rest is history.....
On a random Tuesday, Michael told Mallory he was craving pasta and wanted to go to one of their favorite local restaurants, Santionis. Mallory had quite the week at work and was ready for a night of snuggling up on the couch, but Michael insisted they go out to dinner. Mallory watched Michael awkwardly push food around on his plate for an extended period of time, and he even order two glasses of wine AND dessert. Something he never does. Mallory didn't catch on and she was confused about why he was taking so long at dinner. Once home, Mallory opened the front door to the surprise of candles, rose petals, tons of photos and a romantic song. Michael had to push Mallory in the front door because she was in such shock. Michael then got down on one knee and popped the big question! Mallory cried (shocker!) and then our friends appeared from the darkness with champagne! A random Tuesday, that is now one of the most special days in our lives.
