The Fletchers

Sydney and Owen met while working together at Papa John's in Beech Grove. Sydney was an in-store manager and Owen was a driving manager. Over three years, Sydney and Owen shared a close friendship and always turned to the other for laughs. Sydney frequently worked the oven station at the store, and each time the door alarm went off, she would look to see if it was Owen. Owen was known for making Sydney laugh to the point of tears, and for pranking his coworkers. After three years, both Sydney and Owen felt that their friendship was more. On September 14, 2020, Sydney and Owen spent a night watching musicals Wicked and Hadestown. The next day, Sydney and Owen spent a day together at Garfield Park Conservatory, and decided to pursue a relationship together. Their relationship continued to blossom as the two began meeting each other's families, and getting to know each other on a level deeper than pizza. On December 20, 2020, both Sydney and Owen left Papa Johns to start their separate careers. As Sydney started to work a full time job and pursue a Social Work degree full time, she expressed working about trying to make the relationship work with how busy she would be. Owen responded, "we don't have to try to make it work. We love each other. It will just work." And it did! On June 16, 2024, Owen and Sydney returned to Garfield Park Conservatory, where Owen asked Sydney to marry him. They look forward to spending the rest of their lives together, and continuing to grow individually while supporting the other along the way.
