Pound Sterling! In Scotland, the unit of currency is the pound (£), which is used throughout the entire UK. All major credit cards can also be used across Scotland, with Visa and MasterCard being most widely accepted. As of May 9th, the 1£ = $1.33 Track the exchange rate here: https://www.bloomberg.com/quote/GBPUSD:CUR Any ‘Pound Sterling’ notes can be used in Scotland; however, you may notice that Scottish banknotes look different from those in the rest of the UK. This is because some banks in Scotland have permission to print their own notes. These banknotes are legal currency and can be used across the whole of the UK, not just in Scotland. We know Monica LOVES a dress code. The wedding activities will be in/on the Castle Grounds so think Creative Classy Chic. Welcome Party: Garden Cocktail Gentlemen: No jackets needed - bonus points for creativity Wedding Day: Garden Formal Gentlemen: Suit jackets please - bonus points for a fun floral flair Please use these Pinterest boards for inspiration (ladies most of the dresses are shop-able!) https://www.pinterest.com/monickiy/dress-code. Zola does not support hyperlinks. Please copy and paste the URL into your browser like it's 1999. Please do not wear kilts. We love Scotland and their culture but we're not here for a costume party 🤍
While we absolutely love your children, this is an adult party. Exceptions were made for the Groom's siblings: If your Save The Date is addressed to "The _____ Family" your household should save the date. If your Save The Date isn't addressed to the 'Family' please consider this Mom & Dad's night out! Still not sure? Feel free to text the bride/groom for clarity.
Complimentary parking at Carlowrie Castle is available on-site and is very accessible. Please look for the large car park. Please note that parking directly outside the Castle is not allowed.
Scotland's climate is very wet. We are operating under the assumption that there will be a high chance of rain on the wedding day. If it is not raining the ceremony will be in the castle garden. Expected Temperature: 50-59F Learn more about Scotland's weather in May: https://www.wildernessscotland.com/blog/visit-scotland-may/
