Things To Do

Chain of Lakes

Chain of Lakes

Minneapolis, MN 55419

For a lakeside run, one of our favorites in our neighborhood is running around the "Chain of Lakes" that sit right in the middle of South Minneapolis. Go around all three of Lake of the Isles, Bde Maka Ska and Lake Harriett for a 10 mile route, or mix and match for shorter 3-6 mile routes. If you find yourself around Lake Harriett, stop by the Rose Garden on the northeast corner, which should just be starting to bloom.

Lakewood Cemetery

Did we tell you that we live next to a former Vice President? Well sort of...Lakewood Cemetery is one of America's finest urban cemeteries and final resting place of some of Minnesota's most famous people, like VP Hubert Humphrey. Situated on rolling hills overlooking Lake Bde Maka Ska, this peaceful place also includes a small, beautiful Byzantine style chapel modeled off of Turkey's Hagia Sophia.
