Flight

Denver International Airport

DIA is about a two and a half hour drive from Grand Lake, depending on Denver traffic. Rental car will be the only option for getting to Grand Lake, as there is no public transportation services. There are two routes that will get you to your destination. First being I-70 all the way across Denver and heading north on US-40 through Winter Park, this is the fastest route. The second route would take you north of Denver and into the Rocky Mountain National Park. This route will take longer and also have National Park entrance fees, but the experience is well worth it!

Altitude Sickness

*Altitude sickness can be a major factor in higher elevations. Grand Lake's elevation is 8,369'. If you think you may be affected by this, it may be wise to spend a few hours or full day in Denver to acclimate.
