We met years ago through a mutual friend, who now stands beside us as Kenzie’s maid of honor. There was interest early on, but the timing wasn’t there, so life moved forward, and we did too. A few years later, we ran into each other again. This time, the timing finally made sense. We started spending time together with friends before going on our first official date at Junction House in Wentzville. Between that night and Alex agreeing to make the drive to Kansas City while Kenzie was living there, we both knew this was worth pursuing. Not long after, Kenzie moved back home to St. Louis, and we began building our life together. Alex proposed in Scottsdale, Arizona while we were hiking. We wandered over to a pavilion to see what was there, and as Kenzie turned to head back to the trail, Alex said, “Hey!” When she turned around, he was on one knee waiting to ask her to marry him. It was simple, genuine, and very Alex. Now our greatest adventure is raising our daughter, Caroline, with a little help from our fur babies. Turns out, the right person at the wrong time is still the right person, you just might meet them twice. We are so grateful for the life we’ve built, for God’s guidance, and for all of you who have supported and loved us along the way. We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter together!
