Although Steph and JT had technically known each other for 19 years from walking the same halls of St. Paul School and Notre Dame High School, it wasn't until post-college that they really "met" while on a Heucke-Murray family vacation to Rome in the summer of 2014. During their week of exploring the beautiful city, they discovered that they had more in common than they'd ever realized. They decided that they wanted to continue getting to know each other, and began dating long-distance upon their return to Philadelphia and New York City.

While on another Heucke-Murray family vacation (a theme in their relationship...) to Sunset Beach, North Carolina, JT (after behaving suspiciously for a few days) asked Steph to accompany him on a walk before dinner. He proposed on the beach just before sunset, and her answer was obvious. They returned to the house, where their families were waiting with champagne in hand to celebrate their new engagement!
