What should I expect?

This will be a Big Fat Indian Wedding, filled with vibrant colors, music, and plenty of food! Although family members and close friends may have a role to play, the remainder of our guests are invited to sit back and enjoy our celebration!

When should I RSVP by?

The sooner, the better! We'd like to ask that you reserve your hotel reservations by September 30th to help us get an accurate count.

What should I wear?

Indian or western is totally up to you. Typically, men dress in business casual or sherwani's, and women wear anarkali's, lehenga's, or sari's! Guests are certainly not expected to wear Indian attire, but if you are interested, you can find outfits for the wedding at any of the following places: - House of Indya (online) - Kalki Fashion (online) - Pernia's Pop Up Shop (online) - Shubhlakshmi (Local) Contact the bride for more local options!

Indian weddings tend to be pretty laid back, so you can expect to treat it like you're catching an all-in-one movie: There will be lots of talking, laughing, snacking, crying, and catching up with your people! There will be several key moments in our wedding, including the entry of the groom, the entry of the bride, their first look, exchanging of garlands, phera's, and many more! During the ceremony, you can expect to see the following: - Baaraat/Jaan: This is the welcoming of our main man, Anmol! The procession will have lots of music and dancing leading up to his arrival to the mandap. - Mandap [munn-dahp]: This will be the decorated alter where the wedding will take place. You can expect to see a pit of fire and several chairs. - Aashirwad [aah-sheer-wad]: This is how we receive blessings from our elders! You will see us bending down and touching their feet, at which point they will bless us by touching our heads. - Phera's [fay-rah]: This is when the bride and groom join hands and walk around the fire 4 times. These 4 rounds represent Dharma (morality), Artha (prosperity), Kama (personal gratification), and Moksha (spirituality). - Sindoor [sin-doore]: This is vermillion powder, that Anmol will apply to Het's part in her hair. This is a sign of a married woman! - Mangalsutra [munn-gull-soo-trah]: This is a black and gold necklace that Anmol will place around Het's neck. This is also a sign of a married woman.
