Question

IT'S WEDDING WEEK!!

Answer

As you pack up and prep to leave for our big weekend here are some things to keep in mind! 1. Weather is looking great! Mid 70's and sunny! It has been getting chillier at night so don't forget a sweater. 1. The city has so much to offer outside of downtown and we are here to help you navigate and get the most out of your weekend. Please reach out with questions. The hotel can help lots too! 2. Parking is available at the garage at the Holiday Inn. The day rate is going to be $10-20 a day. Wedding guests may get a discount but please ask the front desk to be sure. Since they don't own the lot rates could change. 3. Masks will be required while indoors at both of our venues and anywhere you visit around the city. We will have extras for you at the wedding if you need. 4. If you are feeling sick at all... please sit this one out. As much as we will miss you we just want you to stay healthy and keep everyone safe. Reach out for a link to our ceremony live stream!

Question

What is being done to keep me safe?

Answer

The safety of our favorite people ever is our number one priority. 1. We have chosen two event locations with open air accommodations and cut our guestlist to keep the numbers low. 2. In the case of inclement weather, each location has an indoor option with plenty of room to spread out. 3. We encourage you to bring a mask, but we will have some available if you forget. 4. We will have hand sanitizing areas available to keep germs at bay.

Question

What are the covid guidelines for your event?

Answer

Currently our venues are requiring masks inside unless you are seated with family and eating. There will be no congregation at the indoor bar and all drinks will be served to your tables, however you can mingle freely with them outside in the courtyard. Please check back as these policies may change with time.

Question

What about our gift?

Answer

If you already gave us a gift, please please don't do anything more. We are surely already enjoying it, and are so appreciative of your generosity and love. Anyone that purchased something towards our trip, no worries. We were given the cash equivalent of that gift and set it aside safely in an account. When we are finally able to go on our dream honeymoon we intend on enjoying the exact same itinerary and will share all of our stories when we return!

Question

Do you have a room block?

Answer

Absolutely! The rooms are in the same hotel as the ceremony and only a few blocks away from the reception so it is super convenient! Go to the travel tab on our website to get the information to book! Pro note: There is a big concert downtown that same night so rooms will go quickly! Don't wait!

Question

What if the room block is full?

Answer

Don't panic! The hotel only releases 10 rooms at a time. Once those 10 fill up, the supervisor has to add the next set of rooms. If it fills up over the weekend it usually takes a few days for the supervisor to see this and take action. If you run into this problem reach out to us, we will call to speed up the process.

Question

Are my kids invited to the wedding?

Answer

Yes and No As you all may know, we are kinda late to this whole marriage thing, and are surrounded by kids that we love dearly. Due to space, safety, and the size of our family, we have decided to limit the kids to immediate family, and nanny families. We have personally notified the parents of kiddos that are included at this time.

Question

How should I dress?

Answer

The wedding will be cocktail attire. Somewhere between jeans and suits. Think church... but not quite Easter Sunday. We want you to be comfy so no need to go all out. The groom doesn't have to wear a tie, so neither do you.

Question

Is it an open bar?

Answer

Oh yes! Included alcohol will be an assortment of beer and wine. Liquor is available for purchase.

Question

Is there parking at the ceremony?

Answer

Yes. Wake Forest University Parking Garage attached to the Holiday Inn is available to anyone making the drive. Just take your ticket to the front desk of the hotel for validation. You will be able to leave your car there until the reception is over. We suggest this since the reception is only a few blocks over and only offers off street parking. Enter 295 E 5th Street, Charlotte NC 28202 in GPS to get there. There is $25 dollar charge for overnight parking on site.

Question

Will there be a shuttle to the reception?

Answer

Unfortunately there is no longer a shuttle running from Holiday Inn. The reception is a lovely 5 block walk, and Uber is great as well!

Question

I'm a bit rickety, are the venues accessible?

Answer

Absolutely! The bride is a bit rickety herself so that was a top priority!

Question

Where is the after party?

Answer

We don't have an exact schedule of where we will be visiting for the after party. A lot will depend on the number of people with us and how busy places are. Annie will be utilizing Facebook to "check in" at each location as we hop around town. That way if you want to join us you will know where we are at any particular time.
