It’s hard to believe how far back Austin and Hannah’s story really begins. Technically, they first crossed paths at Pershing Middle School. They shared an algebra class and swam on the same team, but at that time, they never exchanged more than a glance. Little did they know those small overlaps were the first threads of a much bigger story. Their real story began in 2012, during their freshman year at Bellaire High School. Both tried out for the swim team, and that’s where they officially met. As fate would have it, they ended up not only swimming together but also sitting side by side in both geometry and geography class that year. Day after day—between swim practices, class notes, and car rides to meets—they went from classmates to friends, and then to best friends. By the beginning of sophomore year, Austin finally gathered up the courage to ask Hannah to be his girlfriend. On August 28, 2013, their relationship officially began. From that moment on, their high school years were filled with memories of swim meets, late-night phone calls, homecomings, prom, and the kind of everyday moments that build a foundation for something lasting. During the summers, they even worked side by side as lifeguards, spending more time together, laughing, and creating even more memories outside of school and swim. After graduation, they were fortunate enough to both be accepted into Texas Tech University. College brought new challenges and opportunities, but through it all, they remained each other’s biggest supporters. Somewhere along the way, their relationship grew even more when they got their sweet dog, Mack, who quickly became the center of their lives. Between juggling classes, cheering each other on through tough semesters, and making new memories with Mack, their bond only deepened. After earning their degrees, life shifted again. Hannah pursued her career in medicine, while Austin began working in construction management. Soon after, Hannah was accepted into the Physician Assistant program at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. That meant long-distance—something no couple looks forward to, especially when an anniversary is spent over FaceTime at Chili's with chocolate molten lava cakes. Austin visited as often as possible, while Mack kept Hannah company during the stretches apart. Those years weren’t always easy, but they proved just how strong their relationship truly was. During her clinical rotations, Hannah moved back home to Houston while Austin launched his own construction company, Abbott and Crane Construction. After graduating, Hannah began her career as an OB/GYN Physician Assistant at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. Life finally began to settle into place, and it felt like they were exactly where they were meant to be. Mack, of course, continued to thrive and remains the glue of their little family. On Friday, March 7, 2025, just after Hannah’s first week of work, Austin decided it was finally time to take the next step. He secretly cleared out the living room of Hannah’s apartment and decorated the space to create the perfect setting for a proposal. When Hannah walked in—surrounded by the surprise and the love that had been building for more than a decade—Austin asked her to spend forever with him, and she said yes. Now, after nearly 13 years together, Austin and Hannah couldn’t be more excited to officially start the next chapter of their lives as husband and wife. From middle school classmates who barely spoke, to high school sweethearts, to now planning their wedding, their story has been one of patience, growth, and a love that has only grown stronger with time. Austin and Hannah are so thankful for all the family and friends who have supported them, encouraged them, and celebrated alongside them through the years. They can’t wait to share this next step with everyone on October 10, 2026, as they say “I do” and continue building the life they’ve always dreamed of together.
