I was secretary of our youth group at the time and we had a Trunk O' Treat event for children in the community. Afterwards an event for the teenagers was planned. I got to our parish early to help set up and there was only one other person there. He was in a vest and fedora. His left arm was in a pink cast that matched the shorts I was wearing. We were told to dress up so, I went with a fairy princess thing. I went up to the lonely guy and asked him who he dressed up as. He replied, "I'm Magic Mike." I cracked up. I even asked my mom to take a picture of him and I. The rest of the group came and I never got his name. I was given what was considered the "good candy" that consisted of Laffy Taffy's, Skittles, and AirHeads galore to pass out during the Trunk O' Treat. The guy I took a picture with came up and sat next to me and another girl I knew (we danced together when were younger). The two seemed pretty close. I immediately thought she was his girlfriend. The three of us sat together throughout the Trunk O' Treat and it wasn't until I was almost out. that I realized I didn't even have my original candy bag. This guy had swapped his bag with my bag. He gave me a smile and said his cousin Alicia (who I thought was his girlfriend) made him do it. We couldn't stop laughing. He introduced himself and told me his name was Michael. Our event was coming up and it started to get a bit chilly. He noticed I was cold and handed me his jacket. Our night consisted of throwing shaving cream at each other, a hay ride, bonfire, pizza, and even a scare trail at a paintball park. Almost seven years later and I still have to ask him what was going through his head when he picked out that pink cast that matched my shorts perfectly.
