Sunny Hill Farm

Sunny Hill Farm has been in the Hertel family since 1898 when Meghan’s great-great grandfather, Robert Hertel purchased the home after emigrating from Germany. The farm was later purchased by Norman (Pa) and Evelyn Hertel (Meghan’s grandparents) in 1955. Grammy and Pa made Sunny Hill Farm a place where memories flourished - between building corn mazes, scootering around the old milking parlor, and sharing farm animals with cousins (Meghan owned the ‘hee-haw’ of the beloved donkey Trouble) This land remains a place where family and friends can connect to the past, look forward to the future, and enjoy each moment that we share together right now. Today, the farm is owned by the next generation of Hertels.
Over the past 10 years, Jake has come to love farm life, often found driving the tractors or helping with hay. Over the next year, Jake and Meghan will transform Sunny Hill Farm into their wedding venue, honoring its rich history while creating new memories for the future.
