Maid of Honor
Our older brothers and families were friends, so by the time we came along (1990), we were bound to be friends. (Even if Sarah and I both wanted to be the Pink Power Ranger haha). And now we are actually family thanks to the Shirings! We’ve been through it all and I am so wonderfully blessed to have this gorgeous, smart, impressively talented, caring and compassionate woman by my side.
Bridesmaid
The sweetest gal you know and the one you want by your side if you break down on the side of the road in 100+ degree heat and are looking for a relaxing place to wait for AAA…with a pool 😉. Emily and I have been friends since the first few days of college (2008); the actual time is still debated between us and our parents who received eye rolls from me when they “found a girl from Washington PA” and expected that we’d become best friends by living on the same side of the state…and were completely right. Haha. Sometimes we dream up business propositions that put us in the same place, but until then we love watching each other grow.
Bridesmaid
Katie and I met during our semester abroad in Ecuador (2010) and have been travel partners ever since. She is my nature buddy, outdoor adventure gal, and the one I want by my side in any type of natural disaster. She has a crafty side, an amazing singing voice, and a sharp mind. Ecuador, Spain, Mexico, Glacier, Washington, and this list goes on… where shall we go next?!
Bridesmaid
We met at medical school orientation (2013), and were totally wrong about each other. But saving Christmas trees, travelling to Hawaii (on a vacation that to this day rates up there as top tier), laughing at her lovely puppies, tea and cookies for Downton evenings, and enjoying Food Festival at Disney, this gal and I became more than roommates. She never seems to fit a mold, perplexes, and impresses me often. I’m proud of her and lucky to have her as my friend.
Bridesmaid
A fighter. An inspiration. Mel not only runs Iron Man Triathlons, she wins them! We actually met at Officer Development School (2014) while working together on a graduation ceremony and but only realized as much when we were reintroduced after finishing our medical intern years on the way to dive school a few years later (as I had already saved her number in my phone as ‘POW Muller’ which had my head spinning until I remembered the POW memorial service). There is no one else with whom I’d rather get seared tuna, go wine tasting, and then sit around crackling fire. She saved my morale many a time in Navy Dive School and added to my laughs. I can’t want to run and dance with you well into our elder years!
Groomsman
Kyle is of course less chatty than Kelsie, but a brief showdown of the Groomsman: Derek Pegram – Groom’s brother - Best Man Craig Herring – Bride’s brother Kenny Bayer – friend and baseball teammate Griffin Toyoda - friend Chris Smith - friend
