We were on the same soccer team in 4th grade, and I quickly fell for his gap toothed smile, shaggy blonde bowl cut and shifty athleticism. Unfortunately when the season ended, so did my crush as we went our separate ways attending rival high schools and different colleges. While home from Auburn over Christmas break my junior year, my sister Shannon (now married to Ryan's cousin, Rob) convinced me to meet them all out at the local bar. It didn't take long for us to realize there was definitely something between us. Ry asked me on a date a few days later and even though I was moving back south in two short weeks, I agreed. Almost 4 years and a few cross-country flights, airport goodbyes, NCAA All-American trophies, college graduations, new cities and new jobs later, here we are! We can't wait to make things official and celebrate our love with the ones we love most!
Ryan pulled out ALL the stops for the sweetest proposal I could have ever imagined. On July 20th, I thought we were getting "family pictures" taken in honor of Ry's parents 35th anniversary. On our way there, he suddenly realized he had "left his wallet" at my parents house - something he's done plenty of times before. When we pulled in my parent's drive, I saw the most BEAUTIFUL set up - straight out of a movie! With the help of our families, he had printed and hung up every photo we've ever taken together, strung up on twine and leading us all the way up to a gorgeous backdrop with wooden intials R & E hung. I kind of blacked out and didn't remember much of what he said, but we popped champagne, and celebrated with family and friends all night long!
