What they both thought might be a quick first coffee date turned into a 3-hour conversation and stroll through Downtown Hamilton. Hallie knew Derek was going to understand her after he noted, "You're the perfect amount of weird." The rest was history.
After several great dates, Derek officially asked Hallie to be his girlfriend after walking through Glenwood Gardens together. This would become one of their favorite quick date spots.
Derek and Hallie celebrated their first anniversary together by going to dinner at Sotto in Downtown Cincinnati.
Derek took Hallie back to the very bridge in Glenwood Gardens where he asked her to be his girlfriend. Only this time, he asked her to marry him. Of course, she said, "YES!"
