Our Story

We first “met” digitally in 2016, following each other on Instagram while we were both students at Cal State Fullerton. Even though we never crossed paths on campus, we connected a couple of times over our shared love of film cameras and photography. Fast-forward to October 2020: we were both living in Newport Beach when a simple “heart eyes” emoji—plus a conversation about Natalie’s moped—kickstarted everything. We decided to meet that Wednesday at Kenny’s place by the beach. The night was perfect. The evening was spent on his rooftop watching the sunset and getting to know one another. We bonded over our mutual love of the outdoors, camping, traveling, and so much more. It was short and sweet—we both had work the next morning—but it was enough to know something special was there. By Friday, we were planning a beach day with friends. From that moment on, we were inseparable. Two months later in November 2020, during a camping trip in Joshua Tree, Kenny asked Natalie to be his girlfriend—fittingly, while doing their favorite thing together. Since then, we’ve adopted a cat named Frankie, quarantined over two Christmases, moved in together, ran a half-marathon, traveled to 16 states, taken 24 flights, camped 35 times, attended 14 concerts, taken a few photos and shared a countless laughs. We feel so lucky to have found one another. Whether it was chance or fate (or a very well-timed emoji), we’ve always been a perfect match. We are so excited to continue this adventure together and celebrate with the people we love.
