We met in Westerly, RI in July 2011 after I just returned from studying abroad in Ghana. We were introduced by my high school friends Phil & John at the house Chris was renting (owned by Phil's father). I said I wanted to play tennis (I wasn't very good at the time) and Chris agreed. We played even though I was terrible. He bought me a sandwich and we spent the rest of the summer (and next 7 years) together.
Chris proposed on November 11, 2016. We went on a run to Watch Hill, which wasn't out of the ordinary. Chris insisted on going to the lighthouse and at first I said no, but finally agreed. He got down on one knee, pulled out the ring he was carrying loose in his pocket asked me to marry him. I said, "Are you serious?"
Yes, it's true! We are moving to Kauai! Chris is already there, working at the Pacific Missile Range. I am looking forward to joining him and continuing my work as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
