In addition to hotels and some of our favorite restaurants, Sawgrass Village also includes a variety of boutiques and art galleries, as well as a conveniently placed Publix (local supermarket chain) and CVS Pharmacy.
Located just up the road from Sawgrass Village is Mickler's (pronounced "Mike-lers") Landing. The only free public beach access in Ponte Vedra Beach proper, Mickler's is a great spot to either catch some waves or relax and watch the sunrise — just be sure to get there before the crowds do!
Nona Blue, located in Sawgrass Village, is one of our favorite local dinner spots. Owned by PGA Tour pro golfer Graeme McDowell, the restaurant's casual, yet classy atmosphere sets it apart, as does its eclectic menu. You'll find everything from pub classics, like burgers and fish and chips, to the more sophisticated salmon and filet mignon. For starters, we recommend their blue cheese kettle chips.
A chain that originated in Jacksonville's San Marco neighborhood, Metro Diner has been featured on Guy Fieri's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" and is a local favorite — especially for breakfast. For our out-of-towners, we recommend trying the chicken and waffles, a Southern staple!
One of our favorite date night locations, the Alhambra Theatre & Dining is America's longest running dinner theater. Not only are the shows fantastic, but the three-course dinners — specially crafted by Executive Chef DeJuan Roy of Guy Fieri's "Grocery Games" fame — are always delicious.
If you're looking for some rest and relaxation, there are plenty of spas to choose from around Jacksonville's Beaches, but we personally recommend this one. The wonderful service and amenities offered at the Spa at Ponte Vedra Inn & Club are world class — hence the resort's five-diamond rating.
If you'd like to do some shopping while you're in town, St. Johns Town Center is the place to do it. You'll find all your favorite brands are available at this outdoor shopping center, as well as a plethora of dining options.
At the intersection of Neptune Beach and Atlantic Beach, you'll find Beaches Town Center. Featuring an eclectic mix of restaurants, bars, boutiques and what can only be described as "beachy vibes," you'll find that the general motto here is, "No shirt, no shoes, no problem!"
Located in neighboring Jacksonville Beach, Adventure Landing boasts a number of fun activities for those craving a little excitement, including miniature golf, karting, laser tag, arcade games and a water park.
Lined with shops, restaurants (we recommend the Columbia), live performers and more, Saint George Street is the hub of St. Augustine's tourist district, boasting authentic Spanish architecture and a location convenient to some of the Ancient City's most popular attractions, including Fort Matanzas, the St. Augustine Pirate and Treasure Museum, and the Fountain of Youth.
