After a recent break-up, Kati forced me to go out and have fun. (Against my will. No, literally. I tried to tell her my mom said I couldn't go, and she called my mom and asked her.) We arrived at the bar, and long story short, I thought the bartender (Tyler) was sooooooo attractive. We ended up leaving before I could give him my number or ask for his, but a little Facebook investigative work and we started talking. Haven't stopped a day since.
At a going away party for me in Michigan with the Police Department, I proposed to Tyler with a penny that was from "the year he was born." (I was really drunk, and it was definitely not from the year he was born). Tyler returned the favor, got down on one knee and proposed (with no ring!). My friend stole my phone, accepted the Facebook Relationship Status Change, and I got a lot of phone calls from people wanting details (My mom, sister, Kati, etc.). The next day when my mom called to question me about it, I told her it wasn't real. Tyler had told his parents it was real. That night we went and picked out a ring. (We are so dysfunctional, but I wouldn't want it any other way)
THE ABSOLUTE BEST DAY OF OUR LIVES THUS FAR was the day that we welcomed Theodore Alexander into the world. None of us were planning a baby before marriage, but sometimes God has other plans. In an imperfect world, there is no sense in trying to do things perfectly.. although, we must admit this crazy life that God has webbed together has been nothing short of impeccable.
