Alexandria and Thomas met on a hot summer night at a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert in Hartford, CT. The energy was turned up as loud as the speakers and before the night’s end it was rainin’ chicken tendies! He first fell in love with her stunning good looks, and she couldn’t resist his non-stylish dance moves. While they both look back on that night, they remembered the spark that caught them that first time. They kept in touch over the next few years as friends. It was not until they broke Covid isolation and took a chance on an impromptu adventure to Block Island. That is where their worlds crashed together like the waves on Ballards Beach. They both knew after that day there was still much ahead of them; that their story wouldn’t just be written in the sand…
While surviving the end of the apocalyptic year together, Alexandria and Thomas finally got to board a plane to enjoy their first vacation together. They went to visit her hometown of Miami, FL. This was Thomas’s first time meeting her family (besides the occasional video calls that became the norm in 2020). He should have been nervous, but her family was so friendly and welcoming. Alexandria's mother brought home a smorgasbord of Cuban pastries for his first experience. There was nothing left to think about, that sealed the deal! The precious baggage brought along weighed heavy in his pocket. The right moment finally came after the first few days. Alexandria and Thomas just arrived to their date night dinner, gifted by her parents, when the magical moment came. Just as they were sitting at their table Thomas passed his phone to the server greeting them. Thomas asked to stand for the picture (standing should have been an odd request, but she went along without thinking), as she stood-up, he knelt down. He pulled out a beautiful rose gold diamond ring that left her speechless. Whatever he was thinking in the moments before were forgotten, he remembered the important part though, “Will you marry me?” She didn’t say yes right away, but her hands over her open mouth was a dead give-away she was leaning towards yes. She finally said it...“Yes! Are you serious? Oh my gosh, YES!” They kissed until they remembered that the server was still recording them. People around applauded, and there was a distant sound of Dolphins clicking with excitement while jumping in synchronized formations. It was beautiful and perfect.
