We had matched with each other January of 2022 on Facebook dating after Austin swiped left three times before deciding to shoot his shot. When we starting talking and kind of getting to know each other, we made plans to go out on Valentines Day; which was a couple of weeks away. In between that time, we continued to get to know each other. We spent every night either texting each other or talking on the phone when he was on his way to work. When Valentines Day came around, he drove 45 minutes to me, brought me my favorite flowers, and a stuffed dog plushie. We drove an hour to Mishawaka where he bought dinner at Sohos and bought us tickets to go see Spiderman No Way Home. He then took us to his house where he introduced me to his mom, his dog, and his cat Russell. Then on our way back to my house, he asked me to be his girlfriend.

Our engagement was on a beautiful Sunday in March of 2023. We had plans to get both sides of our family together for family pictures at Miller Park in Kalamazoo. We had the parents (His: Stephenie and Bob, Mine: Jennifer) and siblings (His: Steven, Mine: Cory) to attend. Our photographer was Sara, my moms boss. On our way there, Austin suggested we do a fake proposal with a ring pop. We agreed it would be a funny prank to pull for pictures. So we picked up drinks for the road and the ring pop. My mom and brother has gotten there before us, along with our photographer, and while waiting for Austin's family, we got started on pictures of me, my brother and my mom. After some pictures, Austin's family arrived and we met up with everyone and introduced everyone to each other. After the introductions, we walked to our first spot for photos. Started with some group photos of all of us. Then Austin asked to get some photos of us. He pulled out the ring pop and we did some pictures of that, laughing at the stupidity of it but having so much fun with it. And in between photos and goofing around with the family, and while I was distracted, Austin stayed down on one knee and brought up the real ring and popped the question. There no doubt in saying "Yes!" to him. After tears of joy for everyone, we finished up photos, even got some engagement photos for the big announcement, we all went and celebrated at Black Rock!
