Carbon. Dance floor. Us. December 2014 is when our stars aligned at our local bar, Carbon. The official meet was held on the Carbon dance floor, and with dancing being both of our 1st loves, it brought us together and we've been grooving ever since.
Seized the opportunity to approach her while she was sitting down. Initiating small conversation before leaving, I asked my (unknown) future wife for her number. And to my surprise, she responded with"No"...."but I will take your number." Because I had to internally recover from the initial "no" and low-key get her back for it, I followed up with "Listen. There is no need to give you my number if you not going to use it." Got her - I thought. Of course she said she will contact me. But did I actually hear from her? I surely did not. Months went by with no text or phone call. I would see her at Carbon and not speak; Until one day on March 21, 2015, I saw her at Carbon once again and she approached me asking me to dance. I agreed. Why? Because I knew she was mine from our initial encounter. Rome was not built in a day, and diamonds don't break through overnight. If time is what was needed to begin our forever, I was more then ok with the "waiting game". Anywho, after we re-established that undeniable connection through our love of dance, she gave me her "ghosting" excuse of her losing her phone. Did I believe it? Nope! But I decided to give her a second chance and give her my phone number, again! She texted me the next day and that's how we begun our happily ever after.
My mom and I (Aaron) hold an annual summer BBQ at the house for the family and July 28, 2018 was when the festivities were happening. And it was going to be more than just a get together this year. I decided that would be the best time to propose to my soon-to-be wife in front of our family and friends with absolutely NO knowledge to her. I chose the perfect ring for my Queen which I picked out with my brother and mom. The day of the BBQ, I predetermined to do the proposal right after my daughter and nieces performed a dance routine to Drake's song "In My Feelings" I knew that would get everyone's attention. After the girls received their standing ovation for their performance {which they "KILLED"}, I grabbed the microphone, got down on one knee, and asked my beautiful Queen, "Will You Marry Me." And as you know, she said YESSSS!!!!
