I met Jason in February of 2011 while on my recruiting trip to the University of the Pacific. He was a freshman studying engineering, and a member of the swim team. After a great weekend at Pacific, I committed to attending and started my BA in Communications that Fall. Swimming together 20 hours a week naturally brought teammates together, and Jason and I quickly became close friends. Our friendship bloomed over the next four years as we found common interests in just about everything outside of swimming. In my senior year, I was looking for a new place to live and reached out to Jason. He had one room available for the Fall semester, and I moved in…

We both had an appetite for adventure and loved being around other people. We participated in alumni events and took every chance we could to cheer on the UOP Tigers. We spent these years turning Jason’s college house into a home, becoming members at just about every winery in Lodi, CA, cheering on the LA Dodgers at several World Series games, taking trips all around the country, a week at Walt Disney World, and I even tried to convince Jason that country music is not terrible by taking him to Stagecoach Country Music Festival. In 2017 we made the decision to grow our family by one and adopted our dog Porter. By then, we both knew things were getting serious and we couldn’t be more excited for our future…

After another great Christmas together, Jason suggested we spend a day “just the two of us” out shopping in Laguna Beach. We made our way downtown, grabbed a coffee, and started walking down the beach. We arrived at the tidepools near the edge of the Laguna cliffs, where I unknowingly ran directly to the proposal spot Jason picked out a week earlier. Jason gave a silent nod to the photographer he hired to capture the moment and met me on the edge of the water. He grabbed my hands, I started crying, and a few moments later we were engaged! To my surprise, atop the cliffs above us were our family members ready to celebrate the day with us. We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
