Austin and Jessica began talking to each other online in January 2017. Their first conversation lasted over a week because they responded to each other only once or twice a day. When Jessica was at West Point, where Austin went to school, for her sister's track meet, she asked to meet up with Austin (two different times!). Austin had an excuse each time to not meet. Finally, he asked her on a date! They met in Cornwall on February 5, 2017, at a small pizzeria. On Valentine's day, Jessica was surprised with a dozen roses in a vase and chocolate chip cookies! Five days later they started dating and the rest was history!

Austin proposed to Jessica in a beautiful sunflower field in Dothan, AL. The plan was to go pumpkin picking, but Jessica ended up coming back with her dream ring as well! Austin was acting slightly different that day, so Jessica knew something was up but did not expect a proposal. After they cut some sunflowers, Jessica asked for a picture. During the picture, he bent down on one knee, (dropped the ring), and asked Jessica to marry him. Of course she said YES! The whole proposal was caught on video! During their engagement photo shoot, they found out that their photographer was also on the same hayride they road to the sunflower field that day!

Austin and Jessica got married in Asheville on October 22, 2020 at an Air BNB with gorgeous mountain views. With the wedding being postponed to 2022 because of COVID and deployments, the couple did not want to continue waiting to become officially married. They planned an intimate ceremony with their parents and a few other important people in attendance. They wrote and read vows to each other, cut cake, had a first dance, and did a photoshoot on the mountain tops. It ended up being more than perfect. Austin and Jessica still want to share this special moment with their family and friends and celebrate all together, so a second wedding will still happen! Thankfully, Austin is no long deploying this year, so the wedding will be held on August 20, 2021! We hope you will join us!!
