Wedding Party

Meet our family and closest friends who will be alongside us on our special day!

Daneli Rabanalez

Bride

Jonathan Hentschel

Groom

Jackie DesLauriers

Maid of Honor

Jackie and I met one week into freshman year of band camp while doing laundry in the basement of Williams Hall. Since then, we've created countless inside jokes, sung in Orpheus Choir together for 4 years, shared never-ending laughs before napping, gone through the trials of adulthood together, traveled to the beautiful Puerto Rico (twice!), and persevered in the walk of faith. She is one of the kindest, most compassionate people I've ever met, and my admiration for her grows constantly. While she has the biggest, most gentle, sensitive heart, she is simultaneously one of the strongest people I've ever met. Whether we're eating Italian Cheese bread while watching Catfish or having deep conversations about life, every minute I have with Jackie is a minute for which I am eternally grateful.

Jared St. Aubin

Best Man

Jared and I met in the summer of 2014 during Olivet's freshmen orientation. We ended up picking rooms on the same floor in Chapman Hall. We immediately became close friends, as we had classes together and worked on homework in the dorm. We began grabbing omelets almost every morning, and would spend time together on the weekends watching the Walking Dead and enjoying his Mom's home cooking. To this day, we love golfing, playing cards, and spending time outside. Jared has been one of the most loyal and trusted people in my life, and I'm grateful to him and his family for their generosity to me during my time in the area! Jared and his wife Jessica recently welcomed their son Grayson into the world, and it has been a joy watching them raise him so lovingly.

Ana Escobar

Bridesmaid

Ana and I bonded over late-night movie sessions, Flamin Hot Ruffles, and John Mulaney comedy specials. As soon as I heard her laughing hysterically along with me at his silly jokes, I knew this girl and I would be best friends, and I'm truly grateful for her. Her perseverance and desire to help and serve others goes beyond her professional work, but rather permeates everything she does. I am forever grateful for a friend who understands me in so many different ways, from sharing the immigrant experience to having parents with similar senses of humor. My life is infinitely better with this woman in it!

Eric Mier

Groomsman

Eric and I became acquainted in the fall of 2011 on the tennis team at Midland High. During my first year at a public high school, Eric became one of the first people to welcome me in with open arms. Ever since then, we have developed a wonderful friendship, shaped around our love for God and our desire to be inclusive of others. Together we follow professional golf and tennis quite closely, and we work together on the small business that we engineered for collegiate baseball teams. Eric boasts as creative a spirit as they come, and lightens the mood in every single room that he is in. Can't imagine the past decade without him!

Jocelyn Carrillo

Bridesmaid

Jocelyn and I met because people kept getting us confused with each other, and I have never been so grateful to be called by the wrong name - it led me to a treasured friend! She is hardworking, humble, kind, and determined. As summer roommates of two years, she was always willing to try my first attempts at cooking full dinners (she's a brave soul), to make s'mores on the stove with me, and to have Cleaning Saturday Sessions while blasting Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons throughout the apartment. Now, whether we catch up over Italian food or text each other TikToks, I love staying connected with this lovely friend!

Jordan Wanner

Groomsman

Jordan and I met in the fall of 2014 on the Olivet baseball team. Through our time together in college, we roomed together and saw each other's families often, while always playing cards and grabbing a bite to eat. We'll forever have a special bond, as we both threw a no-hitter shortly before tearing our UCL. We love being active outside and sharing our love for music. Jordan has impacted me with his work ethic and his desire to be great at everything that he does. We have so many unforgettable memories together across the country, and I'll forever be thankful for his loyalty and commitment to being such a good friend.

Abby Bennett

Bridesmaid

Abby and I met while showing her around the Shine.FM studio during her senior year of high school - little did I know how special she would become to me just months later! While she is one of my newest friends, she has already made a beautiful impact in my life. She is one of the gentlest, sweetest souls and I love having her in my life! Whether we venture to a new place in town to try, or go back to our favorite (yes, it's Culver's) place, or FaceTime while away from each other, time spent with Abby is always a blessing! I cannot wait to see how God continues to use Abby and to keep growing together in our faith and friendship. I'm truly so grateful God gave me Abby!

Kurtis Minton

Groomsman

Kurtis and I became teammates in the fall of 2014 on the Olivet baseball team. We ended up becoming close our sophomore year, which was the first of three years together as roommates. We loved spending time in the apartment playing Call of Duty, NHL, and 2K baseball. Kurtis is one of the most thoughtful and caring guys that I know. He took a week off of work last summer to come visit me and my ministry down in the Dominican Republic, and we have been able to see each other many times since graduation. No matter what is happening in my life, I know that I can tell him anything! His loving, non-judgmental spirit makes him a blessing to be around.

Jessa Hendricker

Bridesmaid

Jessa and I were friends right away in college, as we both went through the same Orpheus initiation (those upperclassmen pranked us and truly we did not see it coming), and we steadily grew closer every year. However, I think it's pretty safe to say that our senior year speech and then communication theory class truly brought us closer than ever. Late night study sessions together became a must, and if half of that time was spent giggling and coming up with funny ways to remember concepts, well, at least we still got good grades. I treasure every reunion with this sweet, talented, big-hearted sister and friend!

Josh Hentschel

Groomsman

Josh is my younger brother, and we grew up competing with and against each other in just about everything. We have always enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, ping-pong, cards, and board games together, and we'll never forget playing on our high school tennis team my senior year. Even though we both have a love for sports and many special memories from them, our relationship has really grown past that in the past five to six years. It has been so neat to see him excel in college and to develop a passion for a career in coaching. He is a self-claimed movie aficionado, and truly loves helping other people reach their goals.

Sarah Ganster

Bridesmaid

Sarah and I met at church, where I was immediately drawn to her sweet spirit. She quickly became so dear to our church family and myself. We bonded over a love for Spanish, a deep love for Culver's ice cream, and an ability to switch from giggling over the most random conversations to having the most incredible conversations about faith, love, and the joys and challenges of life. Sarita, as I like to call her, is one of the most resilient people I've ever met, and has an abundance of patience, grace, and love for others. And, just to brag about her, not only is she strong in her faith and in her perseverance, she's also physically strong and loves running. I maintain she could take down anyone in a fight, although she never would and instead would rather love on people and bake for them.

Timmy Mayotte

Groomsman

Timmy and I's friendship began to blossom during my senior year. Along with Zach, the three of us began spending a ton of time together, playing euchre every week, and against all odds, hoisting the 'A-league' badminton IM title. I lived with Timmy for a month after graduation, as we played Mario Kart and Taco Bell almost every night. In addition to these fun memories, Timmy is one of the greatest men I have ever met. He is an incredible listener, and he has such a heart for learning and for justice. He has pushed me to be a better man of God, and I will forever cherish our time on the Hispanic worship team at our church.

Ashley Doolittle

Bridesmaid

While Ashley and I technically would have met on our Orpheus Choir welcome day, we really talked for the first time thanks to our freshman year speech class. Since then, we've done everything from having dance parties in living room blanket forts to, thanks to her bachelorette party, aerial yoga (it was as fun and difficult as it sounds). Ash is incredibly talented, brave, and adorably hilarious and I treasure time spent together. I am excited to stand with her at her wedding, see her marriage thrive, and to witness her embarking on new adventures, while knowing we'll plan some reunions over sushi and laughter.

Zach Tamez

Groomsman

Zach and I became close friends 2017 when we served on the same RA team in the Oaks. Even though it became immediately clear that our personalities were different, our love for Olivet and for serving others brought us together in inseparable ways. Along with being on the same IM badminton team and playing euchre together on a weekly basis, I had the honor of standing up in Zach's wedding this past fall. We also had the privilege of working together this past year as RD's. Zach is someone that has truly blessed my life in so many ways, and I wouldn't be the person I am today without his friendship.

Alberto Escobar

Usher

Bert and I met in college and reunited through church, started spending time together thanks to our parents' friendship, and bonded over late night talks about life. He will always manage to get me thinking about something in a way I'd never considered before and will undoubtedly make me laugh along the way. While the physical distance may separate us, every time he comes home from Texas is a celebration. I admire his courage, ability to take risks, his perseverance, and will always appreciate his laugh and sense of humor.

Andy Aardema

Usher

Andy and I met at Olivet in 2014 during our freshman year. Few people are as thoughtful and as generous as he is. Andy and I would grab breakfast a few times each semester when I was his RA, and he was an incredible resource to the residents in our building during weekly Bible study. He was the first person to come visit me in the Dominican Republic, and he has been an incredible supporter of my ministry work. I am so fortunate that we have been able to stay in touch these past six years and grow together in our faith.

Sergio Rabanalez

Usher

My brother is one of my all-time favorite humans in existence ever. As kids, he was my playmate and adventure buddy - always up for riding bikes to the library or for french fries and ice cream at Dairy Queen. He put up with my bossy self for his entire childhood. Now, as adults, he's one of my best friends. He's wise beyond his years, incredibly hardworking, quiet but hilarious, a great listener, and always willing to give his older sister a hug. I could not be prouder of the man he has become, and I cannot wait to see where and how God leads him as he heads off to college at ISU, while simultaneously so grateful for our present time together and his constant support, love, and friendship.

Caleb Johnson

Usher

Caleb and I met just two years ago when he came to Olivet to be a graduate assistant for the women's basketball team. Despite this, we instantly grew close in our friendship. We both love watching sports together (even though he is a Packers fan), and will play Nertz and Settlers of Catan until the sun comes up the following morning. Even though we tend to have way more bogeys than pars, we also love spending time together on the golf course. Caleb's family has also been such an encouragement to me during these past two years. I appreciate his lighthearted spirit and his genuine heart. Caleb truly exemplifies Christ in everything that he does, and would do anything I ever asked of him.

Cergio and Elia Rabanalez

Parents of the Bride

My parents are my heroes, and the best reflection of the kind of love to which God calls us. They have always been the ones who don't even think twice to sacrifice for their loved ones, whether that be their children or their parents and siblings. The kind of sacrificial love, determination, hard work, faith, and hope that they live out is what I hope and seek to exemplify in my own life. I'll be forever grateful for their example, love, friendship, counsel, and for who they are. And I love knowing that as I transition to being a wife and someday, hopefully, a mother, I'll always be their little girl, welcomed home with a hug and kisses.

Doug and Diane Hentschel

Parents of the Groom

Few parents have made the sacrifices that mine have. My Mom left her nursing career to stay home and raise my two siblings and me. She was both my Mom and full-time teacher through eighth grade, and helped me develop a passion for learning and for getting involved in events and activities that prepared me so well for life. My Dad and I have many special memories, especially during the years that he coached me and pastored our church. Out of all the lessons I have learned from my parents, I am incredibly grateful that their number one priority was to teach us the Word of God, and nothing can ever take this away from us.

Wilfredo Canales

Spanish Officiant

Pastor Willie has been both pastor and professor for Jonathan and me, and we've both learned so much from his incredible knowledge and wisdom. However, he has gone above and beyond the pastor and professor roles - he and his wife have truly become parental figures for me, close friends to my parents, and trustworthy friends that I can talk to about anything. My "Peruvian parents" have impacted my life in tremendous ways and made it richer. Whether we're laughing at funny stories share over a meal, having a deep conversation about faith, or being introduced to more of their Peruvian cuisine, time with spent with Pastor Willie and Ada is time spent with God-given family.

Will Partin

English Officiant

My life forever changed in 2016 when I spent six weeks in the Dominican Republic interning with GO Ministries. I met Will that year, as he not only invited me down to the island, but then invested in me during that summer and really taught me what it looks like to do cross-cultural ministry. I admire the way that Will cares for his wife and his three adopted girls. He has impacted so many by sharing his perspective on adoption into the Kingdom of God. He is compassionate, puts the needs of others before his own, and truly recognizes the need for strong leadership and investing in the next generation. There is no one else that I would want on stage with us on our special day.
