Frequently Asked Questions

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Cocktail attire. Keep in mind it will be warm this time of year! We suggest any of the following – jumpsuits, cocktail or summer dresses, button-down shirts (yes, aloha shirts included)! Note that our wedding ceremony and cocktail reception will take place on a grassy lawn, making it tricky to wear stilettos. Sandals, block/wedged heels, flats, or dress shoes may work best.

Question

Will the wedding be inside or outside?

Answer

The ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outside on the ocean lawn and the reception will be held inside in the Ko Olina ballroom.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please arrive by 4:45pm as the ceremony will start at 5:00pm.

Question

Will transportation to and from the wedding be provided?

Answer

For those of you choosing to stay in Waikiki, we will be providing a shuttle to and from the wedding. Please let us know as part of your RSVP what hotel you will be staying at if you would like to catch the shuttle.

Question

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Answer

Hosted valet parking will be provided.

Question

Do I get a plus one?

Answer

If your invitation says, “and Guest,” then yes; if not, you’ll be flying solo!

Question

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

Generally, July weather in Hawaii is very summer-like, with lots of sunshine and warm temperatures. Daytime temperatures average in the mid to high 80s, while nighttime temperatures only dip to low to mid 70s.

Question

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

For discounted rates at the Four Seasons Resort O’ahu at Ko Olina, call the Hotel directly at 808-679-0079 no later than May 27, 2022 and indicate your affiliation with the Kristi Ikeda and Hensley Sy Wedding Room Block when making reservations. Note that rooms are subject to availability. Visit the “Travel” page for other great places to stay, including hotels in Waikiki.

Question

What should I do if plans change after I've already RSVP'd?

Answer

If your plans change prior to the RSVP deadline (May 21st), you can update your response on the RSVP page. If your plans change after the RSVP deadline, please let the bride or groom know as soon as possible. There are deadlines with some vendors, so accurate headcounts are important; however, we understand that sometimes plans change.

Question

I still have a question! What's the best way to get in touch?

Answer

Leading up to the big day, feel free to call, text, or email either the bride or groom using the info below. However, on the wedding day, please refrain from contacting the couple. Instead, please contact our wedding coordinator, Mona Hirata-Sung. Kristi: 808-348-4986 or kristiikeda@gmail.com Hensley: 415-971-2540 or hensley.sy1@gmail.com Mona: 808-551-7412
