Michaela has a wisdom and emotional intelligence well beyond her age, paired with a genuine kindness that shines through in everything she does. She has a contagious laugh, a warm presence, and a heart that naturally looks for the good in people and situations. Thoughtful, hardworking, and deeply genuine, Michaela has a way of showing up for others that makes everyone around her feel supported and valued. Having her stand beside me as my Matron of Honor means more than I can put into words, and I’m so grateful to step into this next chapter with her by my side.

I’ve known Clarissa since we were kids, and even then, we knew this friendship was forever—we even termed it BFFSK: Best Friends Forever Since Kids. We grew up side by side through middle school, high school, and all the seasons of life that followed. Even when life took us to different places, our bond never changed. Some of my fondest memories were made with Clarissa, and when I look back on my life, she is there in every chapter. She brings so much joy wherever she goes, with an infectious laugh and an energy that is truly magnetic. Deeply motivated and intentional, she approaches her goals with focus, perseverance, and heart—qualities I have always admired. I truly can’t imagine this day without her standing next to me, and I’m endlessly grateful for a friendship that has grown with us and stood the test of time.

Being a father of four, my dad worked tirelessly to provide for our family, and his dedication and work ethic are qualities I’ve always admired. As I got older, our relationship grew into something even more special—he became not just my dad, but one of my best friends. Some of my favorite memories are from our fishing trips growing up, moments that taught me patience, appreciation, and the value of simply spending time together. As I look ahead to building a family of my own, I hope to be the kind of husband and father he has been—steady, hardworking, and always there. I’m grateful for the example he’s set and the constant support he’s given me throughout my life.

My younger brother and someone I can always count on for a good laugh, Derrick has a contagious laugh that naturally brings smiles to everyone around him. Growing up so close in age, we spent countless hours together—some of our favorite memories being the days we played Zombies on Call of Duty on the Xbox, laughing nonstop. From going to the gym and taking way too much pre-workout to bonding over our love of good food, we’ve always enjoyed doing life side by side. We grew up close, and that bond has only stayed strong over the years. I’m grateful to have him not just as my brother, but as one of my closest friends.

J has been someone I’ve admired for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I was always in awe of his ability to figure things out, even if he’d never done them before. Over the years, our relationship has grown into more than just being brothers; he’s become a close friend and someone I can always depend on. Whether I need advice, support, or just someone to be there, J has never hesitated to show up. And despite being the one who introduced me to the gym, he still can’t beat me in an arm-wrestling match. ;)

Kevin is one of those rare people whose presence instantly makes everything feel lighter. Kind, encouraging, and endlessly joyful, he approaches everything he does with genuine warmth and a cheerful spirit. He has a natural way of making people feel seen and valued, always showing up for others with grace and generosity. When Sam and I thought about who we wanted to stand with us and marry us, the answer was immediate. Choosing Kevin as our officiant was an easy and deeply meaningful decision, and we are so grateful to have him play such a special role in our wedding day.
