How We Met
Henry and Katherine met in May, 2020 during the peak of the COVID 19 pandemic. They attended the same Warrant Officer Candidate School course at Fort Rucker, AL. Henry was a seasoned Army CH-47 flight engineer turned pilot and Katherine was just grasping her first year in service. As time went on, and friends were made, they realized they had a lot in common and continued seeing each other through flight school. They supported each other through Common Core, Selection and pandemic restrictions. Once it was time to pick first duty stations, they both chose South Korea for, among other things, the prospect of going there together. Three years later, Henry Mason and Katherine Townsend have begun preparing their wedding and big move to Fort Campbell KY. Here are a few pictures of their adventures over the years.

In 2022 we all ran the Bix7 in Davenport Iowa. Matt met Theo and Kaida, Hank's kids, and Hank and Katie met Lauren for the first time. Lizzi even came through and joined us for the craziness.
In the summer of 2020, Hank and Katie's first date was a 10 min Huey ride near Fort Rucker AL. Because of COVID we had to wait a while before we could do something together.
Hank had just finished common core and took one final photo with the Lakota before selection. There he would select the UH-60 Blackhawk.
Henry met Katie outside the theater where they were concluding her aircraft selection ceremony. She had just selected CH-47 Chinooks.

Margaret, Katie's mom, had her first truffle meeting with Maker's Mark and was generous enough to invite Hank and Katie. Good thing too, Hank drove everyone back in a snow storm for 7 hours!
