What about COVID-19?

Answer

You and your family's health and safety is our top priority, and during this crazy time we completely understand if you choose to not attend our wedding. If you do choose to come, please know that we will be doing everything we can to make a safe and comfortable environment for everyone. If you develop symptoms of COVID-19 or have possible exposure to COVID-19, we ask that you take extra precautions and celebrate with us from afar. We will be looking forward to celebrating with you at a later date!

So are masks required?

Answer

To give you, all our guests and vendors a safe environment for the evening, we ask that everyone wears a mask in high traffic areas and anywhere vendors are working. This includes food/dessert tables, the line for the bar, and when requesting songs from the DJ. Masks will be provided if you forget to bring your own. Thank you for your understanding and helping make our reception comfortable for everyone!

Answer

We will have a seating chart at the reception, and guests will be seated with their families and social distanced from other guests. Hand sanitizer will be available in various places for everyone to use. In addition, we will be providing green, yellow, and red wristbands so all guests can display their personal comfort level to others. If you have specific concerns/questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Henry & Abi.

Can I bring my kids?

Unfortunately, we are unable to invite everyone's children due to space limitations. Your invitation indicates who is invited from your household. Let us know if you have any questions.

What is the dress code?

Answer

We hope our wedding gives you a chance to dress up and wear a fancy outfit! Additionally, keep in mind that our ceremony is outdoors and May weather in Illinois can be crazy. Please wear something that you will be comfortable in.

Where do I park at the ceremony?

Answer

When entering Laura Bradley Park from North Park Road, you will see a sign pointing to the parking lot where you should park. After parking, cross the street and walk over the Japanese bridge. Then, follow the paved path around to the ceremony location (you will know you arrived when you see all of the white chairs). We will have signs marking this path, so it will be clear to you where to go. In total, this is probably a 5 minute walk.

Is there a closer parking option?

Answer

Yes! Instead of parking in the marked parking lot, continue driving and make a left turn as the road curves naturally. Keep following that road and you will see the white chairs where the ceremony will be held. Feel free to park anywhere along side of the road. If you are comfortable walking 5 minutes from the parking lot, please reserve the closer parking spaces for other guests.

What happens if it rains since your ceremony is outside?

Answer

We of course are hoping it does not rain! We will make every effort to have our ceremony outside and will not move it indoors unless absolutely necessary. That being said, if we do need to move our ceremony indoors, it will be held at our reception location, Trailside Event Center. We will be keeping a close eye on the weather, and if we need to change the ceremony location, we will make every effort to notify you and update this website as well!

Where do I park for the reception?

Answer

Feel free to park in the upper or lower lots at Trailside Event Center. If the lots fill up, please park in the lot of D's Paint & Body Shop. Please be mindful and reserve the parking spots closest to the door for guests who require a shorter walk. Thank you!

How do I get to the reception?

Answer

Trailside Event Center is on the 2nd floor of the building. Enter the building through the door that says "Trailside Event Center." Go up the staircase, or turn right when entering the building to use the elevator.

Does the reception start right after the ceremony?

Answer

We expect our ceremony will end by 5 pm and after that there will be quick drive from the ceremony to the reception. The doors to Trailside Event Center will open at 5:30 pm for cocktail hour. During cocktail hour, you will have a chance to find your seat, grab a drink and some snacks, and visit with other guests and us. In lieu of a receiving line after the ceremony, we hope to take a few family photos then come to cocktail hour ASAP to chat with you all! Dinner will begin at 6:30 pm.

How do I RSVP?

Answer

Fill out the RSVP card that came with your invitation and let us know if you can make it (we hope you can!) Then simply put the card in the pre-addressed and stamped envelope and send it back to us!

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please return your RSVP card to us via mail by Friday, April 23. Even if you can't make it to our wedding, please let us know! It is important we receive all RSVP cards by this date as we need to have exact numbers due to COVID-19. If after RSVPing yes, you develop symptoms of COVID-19 or have possible exposure to COVID-19, please let us know that you need to change your RSVP. We completely understand!

How do I let you know that I have a food allergy/dietary restriction?

Answer

There is a space on your RSVP card to note any dietary restrictions that you have. Please be sure to let us know so we can accommodate you. This includes you, vegetarians!
