Henry and Hannah’s story began with a little old-fashioned matchmaking. Will, Hannah’s cousin, and his now-wife Karoline (fiancée at the time), were convinced the two would hit it off. When they met briefly at Will and Karoline’s house in November 2021, Karoline didn’t waste any time — the moment Henry left, she turned to Hannah and said, “So… what do you think?! I think you two would be perfect together.” As it turns out, Henry already knew of Hannah. He and Will had been close since they were eight years old, growing up together on the View Ridge swim team, and Henry remembers seeing a photo of Hannah on Auntie Peggy’s (Will’s mom) fridge two decades before they had ever met. In February 2022, Hannah, who was living in Southwest Washington, was visiting Seattle and out in Ballard with girlfriends when Karoline quietly invited Henry to join. They all met up at Macleod’s pub. It was a light, fun evening, and though Henry wanted to ask for Hannah’s phone number, she was shy and gave him a quick hug and dashed off before he could. Still, Henry didn’t give up. A little while later, he asked Will when Hannah might be visiting again and, as luck would have it, she was coming up that same week. This time, they had a chance to really connect, and Henry finally had the chance to get her phone number. Their first official date was June 10, 2022 — the same day Hannah's niece Luna was born (who’s now one of the flower girls in the ceremony). On their second date, Hannah asked Henry if he’d be up for traveling around Europe with her that fall, since they’d both be attending Will and Karoline’s wedding in Norway. A few months later, they stood up as a bridesmaid and groomsman in the wedding, then took off on their first big trip together. They explored the fjords around Bergen, wandered the cobblestone streets of Dublin (and of course toured Guinness and Jameson), then spent long, cozy evenings tucked into tiny Irish pubs in Galway. More than anything, they loved the simplicity of it — traveling, laughing, and getting to know each other. After that amazing trip, they were inseparable. In spring 2023, Hannah sold her home, moved to Seattle, and they found out they were expecting their daughter, Millie, who will also be walking down the aisle as a flower girl. On September 23, 2023, they were married in a small, private ceremony in Henry’s grandmother’s backyard. Now, two years later, they’re so excited to finally celebrate with all their favorite people — with a ceremony, dinner, and dancing.
