If you know Ben, you know Ye Old Bull and Bush. A hole-in-the-wall British pub, the Bull and Bush has been a haunt of Ben's for several years. Thankfully, Sarah loves a good dive bar, as well. While out at a new hotel lobby bar with a friend, Sarah decided she was ready for a change of scenery, and they walked down to the pub, a place neither of the gals had been. They grabbed a drink and soon enough, as fate would have it (or inevitability), Ben walked in. After he and Sarah spent the next hour chatting, they exchanged numbers. They had their first date the next evening at another Fort Worth staple, La Familia (another FW first for Sarah). Ben shared that he was leaving for Chicago the next week, scheduled to be gone for several months. They stayed in touch, but ultimately parted ways while he was out of town. After reconnecting that Halloween at a mutual friends costume party, Chewbacca and the alien knew they had something worth hanging on to.. and here we are today! We've navigated more than we bargained for as we've forged our relationship, but we wouldn't have changed a single day. The love and connection we've grown is something we only could have dreamed of. We cannot wait to continue learning, adventuring, and sharing our lives together. And playing darts at the Bull and Bush. Thank you for being here. We love you all! xoxo Ben, Sarah, Jiminy, Willie
It was a Sunday afternoon in February. Ben had been working in Chicago since January, but he was back in town filming a short film. Unbeknownst to Sarah, he had picked up the ring that weekend, but had planned to save it until the next time Sarah was visiting him in Chicago two weeks later.. She went to pick him up from the film set and take him to DFW airport. Since they arrived about an hour before Ben needed to go through security, he parked the car and asked Sarah to go in with him to spend a bit more time together. As they wandered around looking for the 'perfect spot' to sit, Ben started getting a little antsy. After they found a quiet corner, they began saying their goodbyes. But Ben just couldn't wait. He got down on a knee in Terminal D. As Sarah's heart rate was at an all time high, she frantically, anxiously squeaked out, "you're doing this now?" followed by a "can I?" from a quivering Ben. In tears, Sarah of course said yes.
