Wrightsville Beach is one of the best beaches in town! There are great restaurants, bars, and plenty of beach for all. Keep in mind, parking isn't always the easiest as October is still "in season" and paid parking is still in effect (but Uber is always an easy way to get around). Some of our favorite restaurants at Wrightsville are Tower 7 (Mexican), Poes (American), and Blue Water (Seafood). Some of our favorite beach bars are Jimmy's and Loggerheads. If you stay before the bridge, Bridge Tender is another one of our favorite restaurants that has a great view or Dockside for a more laid back experience.
Downtown Wilmington offers a variety of restaurants, shopping, & places to grab a drink. Just walking down the Riverwalk is an experience in itself! Restaurants: A few of our favorites are The Basics (brunch), Copper Penny and Fork N Cork (lunch), and Savorez, Yosake, and Dram & Morsel (dinner). Breweries: Pour Tap Room has a unique self-serve system that allows you to try a large variety & selection. Edward Teach is local favorite, & Blue Post is always a good time as it has great drinks & games. Satellite has a great vibe, live music, & is right next to Benny's Big Time, which has fantastic pizza. Wineries: We love Fortunate Glass, Second Glass, & Mon Ame (wine + homemade truffles!). Cocktail Bars: Cloud 9 is a roof top bar with great views of the river on top of the Embassy Suites. Tails is an upscale piano bar & Blind Elephant is a speakeasy with fantastic cocktails. Dram Yard is a part of the Arrive Hotel, has great cocktails & a fair amount of outdoor seating with fire-pits.
A few great Wilmington Breweries are Wilmington Brewing Company, Wrightsville Beach Brewery, Waterman's, and Mad Mole. These offer indoor and outdoor seating and plenty of parking.
Wilmington offers a variety of shopping centers in all areas of town, including Mayfaire Town Center, The Forum, Lumina Station, and Barclay Commons.
The Battleship North Carolina Memorial was opened to the public in October 1961 as an authentically restored World War II battleship, a National Historic Landmark, a museum collecting and interpreting all ships named North Carolina, and a memorial honoring the 11,000 North Carolinians of all branches of service who gave their lives in World War II. Visitors are encouraged to explore 9 levels of the ship on the self-guided tour, which is well-marked so you can tour at your own pace. It is recommended to allow at least 2 hours for the tour. Hours and ticketing information varies by season, so you can find the most up-to-date information on the battleship's website.
