FAQs

Question

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

Semi-formal / cocktail with tropical island vibes - have fun with it! Classic & elevated but playful. Men: Button-down shirts with trousers or chinos and jackets are encouraged. Bold patterns and bright colors are welcome, and ties are optional. Linen is a great choice for the island climate. Please avoid jeans and sandals. Women: Dressy separates, structured jumpsuits, or dresses are all welcome — short, tea-length, or long. Light fabrics like eyelet, silk, linen, chiffon, georgette, or crepe in bold colors or vibrant patterns are perfect for the island setting. *the Audubon house features brick walkways & pavers so be mindful of shoe choices. Heels are great but stilettos may be a risky option!*

Question

what is the dress code for the welcome party?

Answer

Beachy chic - less formal than the wedding. Flowy dresses, linen, and relaxed resort wear are perfect for our waterside welcome party. Flat or sturdy shoes are recommended for the sand.

Question

Where on the island should I stay?

Answer

Key West has a variety of neighborhoods to suit different tastes and budgets. Old Town is the historic, walkable heart of the island, close to restaurants, bars, beaches, and the wedding venue — perfect if you want to explore on foot. New Town is more residential, quieter, and generally more budget-friendly, farther from the action, but is a short Uber or bike ride away.

Question

Should I stay in a rental or a hotel?

Answer

Hotels: Perfect for shorter trips, with easy check-in, housekeeping, and fun amenities like pools or on-site dining. Great if you’re just visiting for a couple of nights. Airbnb / Vacation Rentals: Ideal for longer stays (3+ nights), groups, or anyone who wants a kitchen, extra space, and a local vibe. For most guests staying three nights or more, a charming rental is often the comfiest and most cost-effective way to soak up Key West life.

Question

How long should we stay?

Answer

While official wedding events are just on Friday and Saturday, please feel free to stay as long as you would like. We are extending our stay, and we know several others are already planning to do so as well.

Question

How do I get around the island?

Answer

The best thing about the island is that you don’t need a car! Key West is very walkable, especially in Old Town where most restaurants, shops, beaches, and the wedding venue are located. If you are not on foot or feel like getting around a bit faster renting a bike ($14-$20 a day) is a super handy way to zip around the island. The entirety of Old Town is very bike friendly. There are also plenty of golf cart & motorized scooter rentals. Ubers are also readily available.
