He picked me up in his souped up Chevy in my driveway on September 11, 2015. He took me to Los Dos in Norman and broke the ice by telling me how much he loved watching commercials as a kid growing up. We went down some gravel back roads and he showed me where he grew up. He picked me fresh sunflowers in his dad's pasture and we danced a step or two. He ended the night by asking me to marry him, jokingly. I told him "not yet" with a grin. You know they say "you know when you know" and I think we both knew that night, that we would be each other's forever. We got to become best friends the first couple months we started dating. After a year of falling in love with each other, we got a house together in Lexington. We have one fur child, Cooper, our chunky beagle. On Christmas Day 2018, Derick asked me to marry him and be his forever. We would love if you could join us in celebrating our love for God and for one another. We are so excited for this next step in our life and can't wait to share it with our close friends and family. Thank you for your outpouring of love and support.
