We met in a meeting for the board of our Michigan alumni club in Philly, which was planning a few events in the following weeks. We got to talking at a networking happy hour, but it wasn’t until a week later when numbers were exchanged, a bet was made, and a date was won! We headed to Saxby’s for a coffee date on Thursday, September 3, 2015. They’d released their pumpkin spice latte, and so enticed the fall lover (her) and the fall website owner (him). A *little bit* more than than an hour later, we went back to work with plans to meet the next morning for the Starbucks PSL. That long weekend, we had a date each day, including homemade dinner, a BBQ at a friend’s house, and apple picking at Solebury Orchards. In the months that followed, we discovered our mutual interests, met each other’s friends and families, and fell in love. Following trips to national parks after weddings in Denver (Rocky Mountain, Grand Tetons & Yellowstone) and Sault Ste Marie (Isle Royale), we started a second website, Parkcation, and began exploring national parks together. It was during a much-needed trip to Great Smoky Mountains that we hiked up Mt Le Comte to Grotto Falls, one of the few waterfalls in the US you can walk under. Rob set up the tripod “to take pictures” and set the camera to record as he got down on one knee and asked Jayne to marry him. She, of course, said YES! We started planning a wedding for the following year, and decided that as much as we love fall, we wanted to get married sooner! After setting a date at the church Jayne grew up in, we searched to find a venue we liked, could afford, *and* that was available on that date, and finally found Graeme Park, a rustic setting that carries a designation as a National Historic Landmark - totally “us!” Whether you’re traveling from near or far, we can’t wait to spend the day with you as we celebrate our love and the beginning of our married life together!
