Travel Note

Air Travel

Salt Lake City (SLC): This is the best airport choice for most travelers. Salt Lake City International Airport is about a 2-hour drive from Helper and typically offers some of the most affordable airfare options. Provo, UT (PVU): Located about 1 hour and 15 minutes from Helper, Provo Municipal Airport is slightly closer but generally has more expensive flights. Moab, UT (CNY): A great option for those looking to explore Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. Canyonlands Regional Airport in Moab is about a 2-hour drive from Helper, but flights tend to be pricier. Las Vegas, NV (LAS): This option is for the road trippers! Also, likely the cheapest airport for flights. Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas is about a 6-hour drive from Helper. This route offers the chance to visit Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Capitol Reef National Parks, as well as our old hometown of Boulder, UT, and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. Feel free to ask us for travel tips and recommendations along the way!

Travel Note

Life Elevated

Helper sits almost 6,000 feet above sea level, which is higher than many visitors may be used to. To help prevent altitude sickness and fatigue, be sure to stay hydrated, especially in Utah’s dry climate. We recommend drinking more water than usual, avoiding excessive alcohol and caffeine when you first arrive, and giving yourself time to adjust. If you start feeling lightheaded or get a headache, take it easy, rest, and drink plenty of fluids!
