How We Met

Noah and Caity met for the first time in high school. But "met" is a vague word for this couple. Noah was part of the "cool, jock" group, while Caity belonged to the "music and theater" clique—pretty opposite. However, they had one thing in common: Jesus. Throughout their time at Rose Hill High School, they both participated in the club FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes). Twice a month, a group of teens would come together on a Wednesday morning at 8:00 am to play games, get to know each other, receive a word & eat donuts. For two years, they participated, & for one of those years, they were leaders of the group--together. Alas, they never communicated outside of the club, and their relationship consisted of nothing more than a few words every two weeks. Fast forward a year and two months after they both graduated: July 2023. Caity was casually scrolling on Instagram one July afternoon when she came across a story Noah had posted. The video showed a living room full of people worshipping and giving praise to the Lord. Instantly, Caity was intrigued. She had been looking for a group of Jesus-loving young adults for quite some time. She then proceeded to slide up on Noah's Instagram story and said, "I want a community like this so bad omg (insert happy crying emoji)." He gave her the information for the next group meeting. However, Noah was not able to attend due to being out of town. But that didn't stop Caity from attending. Two days later, on July 29th, a group from the young adult group planned to see the new, heart-wrenching movie "Sound of Freedom." Noah & Caity had been communicating over text in the days leading up to this. After some "If you go, I go" deliberation, they decided to go. As nervous as ever, Caity arrived at IMAX fifteen minutes before anyone else showed up. Eventually, everyone else arrived, except for Noah, who is always fashionably late (she's working on it to this day). It was ten minutes into the movie when Caity first spotted Noah. She had thought he was cute in FCA, but not ever like this. Unfortunately, Caity & her friends had not thoroughly planned the seating situation, & Noah ended up sitting in the row in front of them all. Occasionally, he would turn around and ask if anyone wanted any cookie dough bites. Caity would then say, "Heck yeah, sure!" trying to seem as cool as possible. Towards the end of the movie, the lady sitting next to Caity left. So, Noah seized the opportunity to sit next to her, talking occasionally, nervously. After the movie ended, they went their separate ways, wanting to know more about each other. After a day of nonstop talking over Instagram, Caity suggested meeting up with Noah again to catch up after high school. So, that Monday (July 31st), they met at Scooters in Andover for coffee. What was intended to be just a quick catch-up ended up being an eight-hour in-depth conversation about everything. They instantly clicked. To them, it seemed that time didn't exist. From meeting at 1pm until Scooters closed at 8pm, they got to know each other's life stories, what they had been up to since graduation, their testimonies, their personal relationships with God, and much more. Once Scooters had closed, they agreed they were both hungry and didn't want their conversation to end. So, they went to B-Dubs in Derby & talked until 11 pm that night. From there on out, it's history. They are both currently active in Noah's family's church in ministry. Noah has connected with her family, as has she with his. They have come to learn & understand what true love is. Not anything they could do, but by the example Jesus showed the world when He lovingly spared His life so that we might have eternal life with Him. That is what it is all about. God has a funny way of doing things in life, even if it's not like anything we could ever expect♥

For all the days along the way
