Fun Fact: Allison and Nick both grew up in St. Louis 15 minutes apart and both went to Mizzou but actually met in Las Vegas! It was Labor Day Weekend 2017, and they headed to Vegas for the "Senior Las Vegas Labor Day Weekend" trip. They all stayed at the lovely MGM hotel, and it was then at a ~hotel room pregame~ that Nick & Allison officially met. Allison was asked by her friend (shoutout Jen!) if she wanted to go "pregame with the Lambdas" and the answer yes to that question would end up changing her life forever! Allison, Nick and their friends Ashton & Sam (both of which are in the wedding party!) then ubered to the bar together. Unfortunately, Allison was feeling the long weekend effects mixed with the Vegas heat and had to leave early, but not before Nick got her a glass of water :) The next time they would see each other would be back at Mizzou. Nick was a bartender (nice) at MyHouse Sports Bar and one night Allison attempted to flirt with him while ordering drinks from him. She had the help of her now Maid of Honor Savanna putting in a subtle "my friend thinks your friend is cute" to one of the other bartenders Branden (also in the wedding party!). Shortly after, Allison & Nick's sorority and fraternity were paired for homecoming which felt like another sign as this meant they would be spending even more time together at various events. Through this, they discovered their many mutual friends, both from St. Louis, both in the business school, both bartenders, both loving R&B music and both frequenting the Mizzou Rec Center gym (ironically always at the same time). They spent the rest of senior year getting to know each other and became "official" the summer after graduation. Allison moved back home to St. Louis while Nick stayed in Columbia another year for his Accounting Masters. They long distanced for 1 year before Nick also moved back home to St. Louis. After living at home and then with some friends, they both made the exciting decision to move to Austin, TX in September 2021. Not only were they moving 800+ miles away, but they were also moving in together for the first time... with only 1 bathroom and both working from home. The true test of love! It all worked out because Nick proposed to Allison in August 2024 at Forest Park in St. Louis. They have loved every minute together in Austin for the last 5 years and are SO excited to share the city they call home with all their family and friends. Cheers to forever!
