Tulsa's best and newest attraction. Seth & Helga love getting a beer in the beer garden and walking through the amazing playgrounds wishing they were still small enough to play on the equipment. We went on a date to the Vista restaurant and recommend it.
Upscale outdoor shopping and restaurants close to Helga and Seth's house! Grab a tomato tart and slice of cake at Queenie's. Stop in for coffee if we're home!
Spend an afternoon in the Brady District. We went to Sisserou's on one of their first dates in Tulsa. We also went to the museum at Ahha, the Philbrook downtown, and got coffee at Magic City Books. Go to Chimera Cafe and get the Dutch Farmer Kale salad, then cross the street and get a confetti cookie at Antoinette's. Take it all to-go and eat on the grass at the Guthrie Green around the corner. Helga's favorite chocolate place is Glacier Chocolate and favorite bars are Valkyrie for a Trinidad Sour and the Saturn Room for the Macadamia Nut Chichi. Hjorny loves Lone Wolf's Banh Mi sandwiches. Don't forget to find and stand in the Center of the Universe. If you're lucky you might catch a show at Cain's and get drinks afterward at Soundpony, Hjorny and Ryan's favorite "biker" bar.
Cross the bridge to the Blue Dome District where you'll find the PAC and plenty of restaurants. Check out the Boxyard, which Elli helped to engineer, and Juniper restaurant, a date night favorite.
Outdoor shopping with upscale stores, boutiques, and restaurants. Check out Oren or Mondo's for dinner, Torchy's or Blue Moon Diner for lunch, and Brookside by Day for breakfast. Grab a juice or Helga's feel-good veggie Pad Thai at Pure food. Foolish Things Bar and Biscuit gets great reviews and Shades of Brown was all the rage when Helga was in high school. As for shops, Ida Red has Oklahoma memorabilia and Aberson's has chic clothes and even cooler columns (that Pabbi did years ago). There's also Shop Sasha, the shops of Center1, Lulu Lemon, Urban Outfitters, and many more. Finally, get a quick blowout or updo at Blo Brookside.
Start at Coffee House on Cherry Street where you'll find a cozy patio and Seth's favorite coffee- the iced polar bear. For a delicious Irish breakfast, cross the street to Kilkenney's. Weird books and witchcraft can be found at Peace of Mind bookstore just above. Check out the Nest for homegoods, Andolini's for pizza and garlic knots, and Roosevelt's for meatloaf and a great outdoor patio.
Start at Calavera's, as authentic a Mexican food experience as a Northerner can handle. Helga loves the pineapple quesadilla. Located in historic Kendall Whittier, one of Tulsa's oldest neighborhoods. To the east is Pancho Anaya Mexican bakery and Stem Cell, a science shop. Walk up the street to Heirloom brewery for saisons and a pleasant atmosphere or next door to Circle Cinema for an indie film.
Many small start-up restaurants all in one food hall. Delicious! Cross the street to the Renaissance brewery and get the Indian Wheat beer.
The beautiful brewery that grew from the sale of Prairie Artisan Ales. American Solera specializes in sours and interesting combinations. If you want to make a brewery tour of it, add on: -Heirloom -Renaissance -Welltown -Cabin Boys (right next door) -Nothing's Left -Finish the night at Vintage Wine Bar because wine is nice too Pearl Brewery tours will take you to some, but they miss the most important American Solera and Heirloom.
A full service bar with snacks, tea, and pastries for the non-drinker. Elli and Lisa's businesses are just across the bridge and up the street. Check out surround restaurants The Goat or Bohemian Pizza.
Visit the Philbrook mansion or their downtown location. We went on dates to both.
Indoor rock climbing gym that Helga used to be a member of.
Our favorite in-town hiking spot.
Our favorite a bit out-of-town hiking spot.
Seth & Helga's favorite antique haunt. Check out Main Street Jenks while there.
Outdoor shopping with some cute boutiques and Pier1. Backwoods is a great outdoor store off to the side, and Great Harvest has sandwiches and Helga's favorite Power Brownies (peanut butter, chocolate, and oats).
Indoor shopping, close to all the major stores on 71st
If you can't find it near Woodland Hills on 71st, try the second location, likely located at Tulsa Hills.
