The first time Ryan and I met was at our very first coaches meeting for Thornwood Thunder. At first Brittany didn’t want much to do with me, as I was trying to impress from day one. One day, Brittany finally caved and gave me a shot after I refused to give her Frozen movie back. From that day forward we have happily been together, getting married, and mutually dislike Frozen 2.
Let me just start off by saying, I had absolutely no clue that Ryan would be proposing on this day. He had everything planned out to the tinniest of detail, with some help from family, and he managed to keep all of it a secret. As I’m sure most of you know, Ryan and I are the absolute worst at keeping surprises from one another. Christmas and birthday gifts tend to be handed out a month early, so the fact that he was able to pull this off without me suspecting a thing was incredible. My mom had asked me to come home for an inconspicuous family weekend. She was even full of reasons as to why it had to be that weekend. Ryan asked me to go out to a lovely Italian dinner in downtown Geneva to “celebrate his new job”. Ryan had specifically parked across the river walk. We went and enjoyed an incredibly delicious dinner, and began to walk back to the car. Since we were dressed nice and the river was right there, Ryan asked to take a picture. Right as he went to take the picture, he snuck the ring into the frame, and then got down on one knee. My sister was up on the bridge capturing pictures of this perfect moment and me crying of happiness. We went back to my house, and to my surprise it was full of not only my family, but his as well. We all celebrated, and it was a wonderful ending to the already wonderful day. We’re so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you on the 21st!
