We were sitting outside after band practice at our middle school. I noticed that Zachary was just sitting alone, and I thought I should go talk to him. My sister and I went over and introduced ourselves and talked until his dad picked him up. We never talked again for 4 and a half years.

Throughout high school, we were in marching band together! Our band took an unforgettable trip to Disney World to march in the Main Street Parade; Zach and I happened to be seated across the aisle from each other on the ride down to Florida. Before we left the school that morning, I asked Zachary to prom and he said "Yes!" We spent our time at Disney World together, rode all the rides we could, getting sprinkled with glitter in our hair, enjoyed the fireworks, and had our first mini-date at Gaston's <3.

Helen and I had been preparing to have a fun weekend seeing the aquarium, caves, and other sights Chattanooga had to offer. We started with exploring the oceans and rivers at the aquarium. Afterwards we made our way up to Rock City, a trail/mountain range, exploring the extraordinary sights and occasional gnomes. We made it to Lover's Leap, a ledge where you can see seven states at once. Helen was taking a video of the landscape as I was preparing to ask the most important question. As she turned around, there I was down on one knee, ring in hand, and ready to ask, "You wanna get married?"
